Find Your Area

Your Connection to the TPM Network Starts Locally

The Prepared Majority is a national Network, but its strength is built locally.

Your TPM Area is the primary geographic connection between you, nearby TPM Communities, and the larger TPM Network.

Through the Area, TPM develops local relationships, connects capabilities, supports Communities, coordinates preparedness, and provides a pathway into the broader State, Regional, and National Network.

The Network is national. Your connection to it begins locally.

LOCALLY CAPABLE • NATIONALLY CONNECTED

TPM Is Organized Geographically

Start With Your Area

The TPM Network is designed so preparedness capability remains close to the people and Communities that use it.

Communities build local capability. Areas connect those Communities to each other and to the larger TPM Network.

The Local Connection Point

What Is a TPM Area?

A TPM Area is a defined geographic portion of the TPM Network.

An Area can include multiple Communities and provides a practical level for organizing people, capabilities, communications, training, resources, and mutual support across a broader local area.

An Area is therefore more than a geographic boundary.

The Area is where local preparedness becomes part of the Network.

Areas help:

Connect TPM Communities
Develop trusted local relationships
Coordinate preparedness activities
Connect members with training
Identify capabilities and capability gaps
Connect local expertise
Develop shared capabilities
Support resilient communications
Coordinate shared resources
Support Communities when their capabilities are exceeded
Connect Communities to State and Regional resources

Area and Community Are Not the Same Thing

Your Area and Your Community

TPM Community

A TPM Community is the local group where members build relationships, develop collective preparedness capability, train, communicate, and support one another.

TPM Area

A TPM Area connects and supports multiple Communities across a larger geographic area.

An Area helps Communities benefit from capabilities beyond what any one Community could efficiently maintain alone.

Community builds capability locally. Area connects capability locally.

What Your Area Provides

A TPM Area helps connect members and Communities to resources and capabilities available throughout TPM.

Depending on the capability and local requirements, Area support may include:

Your Area does not replace your preparedness or your Community. It connects both to something larger.

Preparedness

Training, preparedness support, capability development, assessments, and shared preparedness resources.

Communications

Connections that help Communities communicate locally and connect with the larger TPM Network.

Shared Capability

Equipment, expertise, training, or other capabilities more effectively developed across multiple Communities.

Expertise

Connections between Communities and people with useful professional, technical, or practical skills.

Mutual Support

Coordination between Communities when requirements exceed the capability of one Community.

Network Connection

The pathway connecting Communities with appropriate State, Regional, and National capabilities.

Every Area Is Part of the National Network

Part of Something Larger

No TPM Area exists in isolation.

Each Area connects upward and outward.

If one Community requires assistance, another Community may have the capability.
If an Area's capabilities are exceeded, another Area may be able to assist.
State and Regional organizations provide additional layers of capability and connectivity.
The National organization provides common standards, infrastructure, interoperability, and Network-wide support.

The goal is not dependence on the top.

The goal is capability throughout the Network.

The Network Is Growing

If Your Area Is Still Developing

Not every location will necessarily have the same level of TPM development. A visitor's location could return one of three statuses.

The geography should still belong to the TPM structure even when an active local organization has not yet been established. The Network is being built. This Area is not yet fully developed.

Established

An operational TPM Area exists for the location.

Your Next Step

Finding your Area does not automatically make someone a TPM member.

It identifies the portion of the Network associated with the person's location and provides the appropriate next step.

Finding the Network

≠

Joining the Network

That distinction is particularly important because TPM's membership process is deliberate and Area-based.

From there, a visitor can:

01Learn about the Area
02Explore TPM preparedness
03Learn about the Network
04Understand the membership process
05Express interest in getting involved
